I'm current taking a Chinese class and working from the book that goes with these cds. We always go over the dialogues in class. This is a great refresher to how everything should sound. I added these to my phone so I can listen to them anywhere.

I'd buy this if it is my first time doing chinese characters.I'm very glad that they combined the simplified and traditional characters in this revision, as most Chinese content in America is in traditional characters because we have so many people from Taiwan and Hong Kong.If you are taking the course the first book could be worth the money if you are completely new to character writing.

I am teaching a class of 7 students. They have been struggled with after class study when I am not available. Thus I purchased this serial CD and put them into library, they used them very often and get improved on their after-class speaking, listening and reading. That's very exciting to see when I get into class and see my students can read, speak along with the textbook. I recommend this material.

These cd's have done wonders for my pronunciation in my Chinese class.Even my teacher noticed the accuracy of my pronunciation increase from the time that I started using them.The speed of the native speakers increases incrementally with each chapter, so you are actually able to spend time listening to how they vocalize the words and you do not have to worry how fast they are speaking.Great. Fantastic. A++. All the stars.

I think this is a good introduction book for learning Mandarin. What I like about this book compared to some others is that it has a lot of listening excercises on pronunciation and tones which is key to learning Mandarin. Of course you will need to buy the corresponding tapes/MP3s for these exercises. In addition the dialogue is pretty short so it's not overwhelming and good for basic introduction. I think this book takes it's time to teach new dialogue and vocabulary which is key to learning a new language.

Integrated Chinese Character workbook contains easy-to-use grids that allow you to practice each Chinese character stroke by stroke. There is plenty of space to repeat each character and dialogue.

Had to buy for class but I also recommend it if you're studying chinese on your own.
