This was supposed to be a new item and is a gift for my mother. Unfortunately, there was a sticky substance on the front and back covers. The sticky stuff on the back was clearly from a sticker being removed, but the stuff on the front wasn’t. Something was spilled on it and there were fingerprints in it. So gross! So I deducted two stars for the poor handling.
This book is good. The price is right and it's a quality hardcover product, but it's just around five years old now, which is something I hadn't realized until I gave the book as a gift to an 80 year-old. She opened the book and started reading the contents and noted that about half of the 80 year-olds the book is about are now dead. I felt bad but fortunately they thought it was funny.Time for an updated version!
I received this book for my Mothers 80th birthday and it had a 26 word inscription, To: Mark ........, signed Love........., and dated 12/07/07, all in pen of course!!!
Purchased as a gift for my kid brother on his 80th. Haven't had any feedback from him yet, but he seemed to like the idea of it. Thought it was a little pricey for what it was…but it's not heavy; he's my bro.
This is a nice quality book. It made an appreciated and wonderful gift for a friend on his 80th birthday.

I gave this to my grandmother for her 89th birthday. She raved about it! Called me the next day to tell me story after story. She said she read it twice L'Chaim!
I bought it as a gift for someone who turned 80. Great short chapters (2 - 4 pages) on various famous people giving their views of the past and their futures. You can sit down and have a fun read for as long or as short a period that you want. I was able to write a short birthday wish note on the inside cover to personalize it.
