This is a different style of BDSM, dealing with a man who is all alpha but is supressing those feelings because of a bad experience with his sub/love of his life. Dominic Powers is young, wealthy from hours of hard work and is dealing with feelings he doesn't know what to do with. Enter Sophia, a poor but very beautiful young woman who Dominic knows he must have. She is groomed to become his right hand, but what he does with his right hand has nothing to do with work. This is a very sexy book, well written and the plot is explosive, not only in the bedroom, boardroom, desk, wall, shower, tub, etc. but also when bad things begin happening to Dominic. This book would have been given a 5 star rating right up to the end, which sucked the big one. I hate not knowing that a book is a cliffhanger and ends when you inhale and can't exhale fast enough because of the surprise ending. I hate that. I swore I wasn't going to get the second book, I was so aggravated. As soon as I finish this review I'm clicking on the purchase now button..lol I have to know how this plays out. Not a waste of time at all if you do't mind having to buy the next book to have closure.

Had I known that this book ended in a cliffhanger, I never would have read it. That being said, I found it to be very interesting. Dominic Powers made the book. He was a Dom in every sense of the word, without being a brutal, overbearing bully as most doms are written to be. He didn't have a background of some kind of physical abuse. He was raised in the life by his parents and knew what it truly meant to be a Dom. Sophia, in the other hand, was one-dimensional. She was immature and didn't fit as someone who filled the role as Dominic's right hand person. I don't understand how Dominic was taken in by her. The secondary characters were so interesting that I can't wait to read more about them, especially Tucker and Shadow.Normally, I won't read the next book in a Cliffhanger. However, had I read the reviews, I would have known it was a cliffhanger. So, I'll read the next book because I'm curious as to her actions and how Dominic responded. Still, nothing in the blurb let you know that it's a cliffhanger. Just because it's Book 1 doesn't mean it's a cliffhanger. I've read plenty of the first book in a series that were not cliffhangers but were the first in a dynasty, etc.If you hate to read book that ends in a cliffhanger, don't read this one. Otherwise, prepare to be taken in by Dominic Powers and the other secondary characters.

This book is my first book by A. D Justice and it has a very interesting story. Though I have read quite a few BDSM romance or books with BDSM elements in them this is the first time I have read one where the girl has already been trained, albeit very badly, before meeting our main character and Dom.Both Dominic Power and Sophia Vasco are broken. Sophia is broken by her first Dom who trained her as well as a few other things. Dominic is broken and even tried to deny his dominant self until Sophia walked in.From the first moment Dominic Powers first laid eyes on Sophia he wanted her. He wanted to slip back into his Dom persona and own her. But he holds back, he tries hard not to fall back into the Dom life. Sophia Vasco is broken, from a not so happy childhood on up to the abusive Dom who trained her. When she meets Dominic she feels the pull and feels he is dominant. She can't help but treat him different than the other men in the office, going from a confident woman to a submissive when he comes near.When these two finally come together Dominic is more than Sophia ever expected. He does things so differently than her other dom and getting use to his way, the right way, is challenging at times. After finding out detail after detail about her training Dominic wants to hunt down her old Dom and give him an eye for an eye. He is becoming completely captivated by his Sophia.But with all good things something has to muck it up. Both are hiding something from the other. Will they be able to move ahead and get past their secrets or will this put a full stop on the new relationship they are enjoying.I loved the story line. Like I said it wasn't anything I had encountered before. I did have a hard time with all the saccharine sweet moments and Sophia being so weak willed around Dominic but this is the product of her abuse and I think my problems are more of a taste thing than anything else. I got drawn further into the plot quite easily and enjoyed this story.**I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for my honest and fair review**

Dominic needed to find an assistant that could act on his behalf like him when he couldn’t, after interviewing a lot he decides he won’t find someone, but his secretary feel he should interview the next appointment, when he sees her, he knows he’s attracted to her. He hasn’t had a submissive since he’s last one and had no plans to but something about Sophia draws him in.Having to travel for work, Dominic can’t believe when Sophia asks if he’s a Dom, more when he finds out she’s a submissive, but he learns that her last Dom guided her wrongly and was cruel and he plans to gain her trust and show her his way.Things are going well, better than Dominic could have hoped for but he can’t give Sophia the three words she wants to here and can’t help but know he has to tell her about his past and wonders if it will change everything.Dominic knew there was still something Sophia wasn’t sharing with him, but he wanted her to tell him on her own, he thought it was her family, he never once thought it would be what he found out.Does end in a cliff hanger.
