About the Author

Steven Adams is the starting center for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Born in Rotorua, New Zealand, Adams moved to Wellington at the age of thirteen and began playing basketball. He went on to play college basketball at the University of Pittsburgh, earning Big East All-Rookie Team honors before declaring for the NBA draft. Adams was selected by the Thunder in the first round of the 2013 draft, and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in his first season. Now in his sixth season with the Thunder, Adams has played in two Western Conference Finals and is one of only three players in franchise history with over 3,000 points and 350 blocks.

I read this in two days. It is written in a conversational way that flows very well and is easy to read. There are many humorous parts that caused me to laugh out loud. I realize it will mostly be appealing to OKC Thunder fans, but honestly there is so much more to the story than just his life as a member of the Thunder. Steven Adams is a lovely/loveable human being and that is evidenced in his life story. I highly recommend this book!

I am a big fan of OKC Thunder and of Steven Adams. I'm also a read-o-holic, so when I saw Steven had written a book I had to read it.New Zealand and his friends are lovely, and he and his family have hearts and personalities as big as they are...and they're BIG!I was surprised to learn that this was his co-author's (Madeleine Chapman) first book. I hope she writes more because this one was very well written (I should know since I am a read-o-holic:)

Steven has always been a favorite Player for our Beloved Thunder. Know after reading this OKC will love ❤️ him even more. It is from the heart and tells the story and struggles he had to get to where he is today. From having NO shoes that fit,wearing plastic bags or going barefoot to having more shoes than he could ever wear, That is just one example he gives of his trip on his way to being a NBA Super Star and a OKLAHOMA THUNDER Player where he is so loved. Pat a Adams Super Fan.

I thought it was an inspiring book for an athlete or for anyone striving to achieve to read after I bought it and read it myself. I bought one for my 7th Grade Grandson who is so into basketball. I bought two others for older ladies who are dyed-in-the-wool Thunder fans like me, and we all have loved it. I would recommend it for anyone to read.

Very enlightening. I loved Stephen from the first game he played for the thunder. I'm 73and I told my husband Jim that Stephen doesn't know it but he is my next husband. He reminds me of Jim when we first met, long hair and rugged good looks. I have made Jim into a basketball fan and he l.oves the thunder almost as much as me ! I have to use a handicap scooter to get around. But one of these days I am going to manage to see a game up close and personal.

Love the book! It’s awesome to hear about where he grew up and how he became the man that he is today! It’s also pretty humorous and witty throughout

Great book! From learning about his childhood up to being one of the best centers in the NBA is amazing. Adams takes you through his ups and downs of his road to a pro basketball player. It’s a amazing book to read.

This is one of the best books I have read.It made me laugh as well as cry!
