As a Small Business Owner I found this book extremely informative and instructive in helping our team navigate the ever changing, complex world of Association Health Plans. The book is very clear, the information segmented well so you can skip any parts that may not applicable to your particular situation, etc. I also very much appreciated the non-partisan way the content is delivered to the reader. This book is a must have!

Your vision of future healthcare costs and the potential for small employers to maintain comprehensive coverage for their employees via AHPs in the private marketplace is appealing. The ACA has been a challenge for small employers, to say the least, in providing an affordable health plan with broad access to care. Improved regulations surrounding AHPs, such as definitions of employers (including the self-employed) and organizational structure and bylaws supporting financial stability (and reduced fraud), is a welcomed change for the future. I am eager, both as a Benefits Advisor and small employer providing group health insurance to my employees, to see the expansion of AHPs in the immediate future.

This is an excellent primer for anyone interested in how insurance works and what is driving cost as well as the new push for association driven health plans.

Health Care is a mess, but Kevin Coleman gives some clear, bipartisan, stats-based insight into what people on the street need to know. His research is great, his interest in the common good is strong, and his suggestions need to be heard -- from the White House to the street, This book is a must-read for anyone wanting to clean up the mess we're in!!
