Dinosaur A-Z is a great book for toddlers who love dinosaurs. My kids loved the book and ask for it every day. I would totally recommend it for any toddler who loves dinosaurs. The book has stood up to 3 year old twins dragging it around everywhere. The pages are pretty thick. I would note the pictures are of realistic dinosaurs and not cartoons. Spoiler Alert - there isn't a T-Rex in the book, which has caused disappointment for the kids.
What a gorgeous dinosaur book! I truly wish I owned this one as a child. My almost-two-year-old is obsessed with dinosaurs (dee-saurs, he calls them!), so I bought this book to teach him a few more dinosaurs along with his ABCs. I was blown away by the quality of this title. The pages are full-color on heavier weight, glossy paper, so it's really a treat to flip through. As for the content, I was impressed to find that the pronunciations are included on each page! No more messing up dinosaur names, hooray! I can't recommend this book enough. I will probably start buying this book for all the little children in my life now, that's how much we enjoy it.
My little dinosaur loving 2 year old daughter is obsessed with this book. It gives her a ton of excitement to read.
It's great for the kids too! We have read this book so often in the year that we've had it that it's barely held together anymore. This truly is THE book for kids who really love dinosaurs. You and your child(ren) will learn 26 dinosaurs- one for each letter of the alphabet. Many are new but there will be a few familiar faces too. We have quite a few dinosaur books, both fiction and non-fiction but this one is the favorite. If your child isn't a dinosaur lover they might be better off with dinosaur fiction.Pros:-The pronunciation! It's wonderful. I can now confidently point out a Parasaurolophus or Ouranosaurus and state their name without hesitation. It's hands down the best feature of this book, especially for the parents.-The details. You can find out how big each dinosaur is compared to an adult man and how some of them compare to cars, buses, kids and more. You'll learn what each dinosaur eats, what their name means, if they are fast or slow and much more information. It's easy to read each entire page or keep it simple for younger readers by only reading the names or talking about the pictures.-It's a board book. Another reviewer stated that it might deter older readers from seeking out this book and I agree, but it also makes it a sturdier book. There should be an edition for older readers.-The pictures. They are realistic rather than cartoon-y.Cons:-The size of the book makes it difficult to fit on a regular shelf. I understand that there is so much to fit on each page and that the larger words are important for younger readers but it does make it harder to store.
Great book
My 5yo granddaughter is really into dinosaurs and dragons. She has a lot of dino figures and electronic dino toys. With the new Jurassic Park movie coming out she's started being more interested in the actual names of the dinosaurs. I found this book online and thought it would encourage her to become more interested in books and less in electronic means of exploring her interests. To be honest I didn't expect much because of the low price for a hardcover edition, but was pleasantly surprised to find the book very informative with photo like graphics. A definitive must for ages 3 to 11
Wonderful dinosaur book and most importantly it tells you how to pronounce the name! There is one dinosaur per page and just enough facts to be interesting but not overwhelming. I bought one for my 4 year old son and for 6 year old nephew.
I'm sure you guys have seen those little dinosaur pack they sell at dollars stores all deformed and weird looking , I'm sure that's what they used for these pictures,. To top it off there's no T-rex , my son would have loved this book if it only had one awsome looking T-rex at least.
